Bangladesh Aint Gettin Paid

Bangladesh gave us some incite into the making of Lil Wayne's lead single off Tha Carter IV, "6 Foot 7 Foot." Today, it looks like he's still going through the same problem he went through with Lil Wayne and "A Milli."
The Atlanta beatsmith recently spoke on not being properly compensated for the the C4 single. "I f--- with Wayne, man; I had the opportunity to give him more music," he told MTV News. "It's just hard to do. It's just hard to keep working for free."
What Bangladesh actually did was he struck a deal with the Cash Money rapper. He waived the upfront fee for the beat in exchange for a verse from Lil Wayne for the producer's upcoming album. "It's not about the money, it's not about me charging him for the beat, because he is Lil Wayne; he's gonna sell albums," he said. "You only really charge people that you think is not gonna really sell too much, so you want to get your money off top."
Bangladesh mentioned that he will not work with Cash Money until the issue is resolved.

2Pac “Becoming Clean” Photo Shoot

Here’s film from the set of 2Pac’s iconic “Becoming Clean” photo shoot. Shot by photographer David LaChapelle, the photo was taken following Pac’s release from prison. Below is an interview of LaChapelle discussing the shoot.
DM: I feel that a lot of your work emphasises on beauty in people, regardless of colour or size. One of my favourite pieces of your work is “Becoming Clean” with Tupac Shakur amongst others. How was it like work with him?
DL: Tupac was great, he was very sensitive and is truly a good person. I wrote to his mum when he died and she sent me flowers and gave me his last song, “Ghetto Gospel.” When we did the shoot, he had just come out of prison and every shot has a reason, it’s never random, so this was the idea of the photo shoot, him becoming clean. He had given this interview when he was still in prison and he really opened up and was so honest. I had read it and thought it was so truthful so for the work I did with him, there was this idea of washing away and rebirth. And we did another shoot where he posed as a slave on a cotton field. They traced rapping and rhyming to “call and repeat” during slavery time in sugar cane and cotton fields to pass the time. It’s on the Hotel Lachapelle book. Tupac came to the shoot 2 hours early, which was very unusual for a rapper. So I wasn’t ready for the shoot and he didn’t care. He reminded me of my black friends whom I went to art schools with, he was so cool, open-minded and chill. He wasn’t judgemental. Then later on, I found out that he had gone to an art school. He left behind a big bag of socks and underwear because he had just come out from prison and never picked it up. He died shortly after. I still wear his socks sometimes (laughs).

Typoe - Confetti Death

Miami-based Typoe created this insane piece earlier in the year titled Confetti Death. Produced from shards of spray paint caps, the confetti of color sees a splash through the mouth of a skull, juxtaposing quite nicely with the white wall it’s placed on. Confetti Death was just a snippet of a larger show highlighting the artist’s graffiti and fine artwork. A bit more of his work can be seen here.

Soulja Boy Remakes Juice

Tupac’s back. Not really, but Soulja Boy is set to reprise Pac’s role as “Bishop” an adaptation of Juice. Apparently, the film will coincide with his mixtape bearing the same name. Below is what he told VIBEof the flick.
VIBE: Can you tell us a little bit about the story line for Juice?
SB: Basically, it’s your boy Soulja and I’m Bishop in 2011, running around in the streets, man. You know how the movie goes, but we’re flipping it and shooting in Atlanta. I want to show these people my acting side and me being creative—always giving them something new; that’s all. I got same video director that shot “Crank That,” “Kiss Me Through The Phone,” “Turn My Swag On” —my most successful videos. The whole mixtape is the soundtrack for the movie.
Did you cast any other rappers in the flick?
Yeah, man. Actually Cam’Ron reached out to get in the movie. Some of the original actors that were in the original reached out too. We’re in pre-production right now. We start filming on the Apr. 28th in Atlanta. It’s going to be crazy. Of course I’m going to have my S.O.D. family in there. We’re juicing up!
Who from the original movie is going to be in it? Raheem [Laughs] ?
Not Raheem. You know the chubby one? He reached out. He actually wanted a part. I thought that was cool, so I told the director Rage to just go ahead and put him in the movie.
