Sometimes the perfect casting decision can make even the silliest television pilot sound amazing. Case in point: Adrianne Palicki is your new Wonder Woman.
NBC announced the decision to cast the Amazonian beauty on Wednesday night, thus immediately making the David E. Kelley pilot one to keep an eye on over the next few months. Palicki—the former Friday Night Lights star who also briefly appeared on the far-too-short-lived Fox series Lone Star—will play Dianna Prince, a high-powered businesswoman by day and a vigilante crime fighter by night.
Producers wanted Palicki so much that they didn't even meet with other actresses. Apparently, she was the entire list.
Of course, whether or not Wonder Woman succeeds rests at the feet of Kelley, the man responsible for Ally McBeal and NBC's new legal drama Harry's Law. At the very least, though, Palicki will look quite nice in her Wonder Woman costume, and that's one hell of a starting point.
