A well-designed coffee machine is as much a consideration as the brewing performance. A completely different approach to the traditional espresso makers, the Linje Espressomaker is a beautiful wooden creation by Øystien Helle Husby. The project was done in collaboration with Audun Grimstad, Åsne Kydland and Mariko Kurioka Rohde as an assignment for design school. The eye-catching espresso machine is made of layers of poplar wood, which have been fixed together and then sanded down.
Husby says that the Linje is “the result of a Norwegian approach to coffee – a world by and large dominated by Italian influences.” The Linje has been designed with an aim to introduce something fresh and unique in the product category.
